0.3 Devlog #1!
After quite a bit of time, a new version is finally going to be releasing, soon! A1 in 0.2 currently is extremely unstable to play (though you can play it by editing the save file) and pretty much just a test level - there's not much to see. And now, while 0.3 won't be adding any new features mechanics (every version up until 1.0 will be focused on introducing something new since it's barely reached its first "real" version), I am focusing on trying to get A1 out alongside F16, as promised. Some notable changes include:
- The addition of cutscenes (currently only including the intro). These will be refined better later, but currently are only going to be used for transitions between stages. (Note: A1 does not transition to F16. There will be no cutscene between them, since there are multiple stages that have to be added between them eventually).
- A more dynamic menu. You can now start a new game or continue off of your last one. If you have not started the game before, you can only create a new game.
- Completely new A1 level design. Pretty much everything has been changed. The background has been replaced (the old one didn't fit well) as well as new sprites for underground, which will be used more heavily in future levels. Currently, it's very work-in-progress and rough, but in future versions, might be revised.
I don't want to set a deadline for when this version will be released, but I want to give a rough estimate of somewhere near the end of March.
